Volunteers from the shelter will sell cupcakes at Ashcroft’s Supa IGA in Peisley Street and in Post Office Lane to raise money for the general upkeep of the William Street shelter and the desexing subsidy program.

There will even be special dog-friendly “pupcakes” available for all doting pet-owners, made from all natural ingredients.

RSCPA fundraising committee member Debi Egli hopes Orange residents will be as generous this year as they have in previous years.

“Every dollar raised stays here in the community and will go towards the desexing programs and maintenance at the shelter,” she said.

“Some people will give us $10 for one cupcake, or some people who have diabetes and can’t eat them will just donate money.”

IGA staff will bake the bulk of the cupcakes, but any member of the public who wants to donate a batch is welcome to drop them off at either of the stalls on Monday morning.

Fundraising Committee member Libby Jones said the cupcake stalls would not be possible without the support of Ian Ashcroft and the IGA team.

“We’re very grateful for IGA, they’re very wonderful and they do so much for us,” she said.

Stalls open at 9.30am and will close when all cakes are sold out.
