I WISH to congratulate the central Victorians who attended this week’s rally to Bust the Budget in Bendigo.
Hundreds of central Victorians from all walks of life took to the street on Tuesday to oppose the Liberals’ Federal Budget.
Tony Abbott’s budget affects everyone – low and middle income families, pensioners, students, young people, the unemployed, and all who access education and health care in this country. It particularly attacks the most vulnerable in our community.
Twelve months ago, one of the main architects of the budget, Joe Hockey, came to Bendigo and opened Liberal House, spinning promises that have all been broken since.
I, along with my state colleagues Jacinta Allan and Maree Edwards, were proud to join our fellow central Victorians in sending a strong message to Tony Abbott, Joe Hockey and his Liberal government that we do not support their vision for Australia.
